Scotland is a small country. But don’t be fooled by its size because it is one of the most loved countries in the UK to visit by tourists. Visiting the country will allow you to find a lot of interesting places and fantastic sightseeing opportunities. And if you are into photography, then you are in pure luck because of what you will find in the country.

Why Visit Scotland

If you are visiting Scotland and you have only one place to visit, then head to Edinburgh. This city has world-class cultural events and the country’s capital. You will be able to enjoy major festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe which mostly happens in Edinburgh Castle.

The country’s capital has a well-preserved architecture starting from the medieval times to the more New Town area. Much of the town was built during the 18th century and a walk around the Georgian townhomes and the Grassmarket will let you see how elegant the city is.

Edinburgh Popular Events and Festivals

Edinburgh is also a host to different popular events and festivals all year. One of the largest and popular events it hosts is the largest arts festivals in the world known as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival that attracts large crowds. There is also the Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo that are held in Edinburgh Castle which is also popular.

Other Things not to miss

When in Edinburgh, include a visit at the Royal Yacht Britannia. It was once the Queen’s personal yacht but has been turned into a great looking museum.
